Late World Book Day Meme…
The book I am reading: Alex Cross’s Trial by James Patterson. A novel about racism and lynchings in the south and the white lawyer who’s trying to solve who’s behind the return of the KKK to his hometown. I picked it up to kill time in the morning and somehow I got sucked in.
The book I am writing: I put Next to Godliness on hold because I’ve hit a snag in the logistics of the plot. For months I would just look at the blinking cursor, wracking my brain about how to wrangle the characters. It was something I thought I’d just be able to bang out, years back when I started it. I didn’t foresee how expansive it would become. So I’ve picked up the old novelization of Elven Lacryment and been working on that. Unfortunately I still see it progressing in little boxes as a comic book but it seems that comics from novels are all the rage right now so there’s still hope.
The book I love most this year: I haven’t finished a book this year yet.
The last book I received as a gift: The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. Vampires the way vampires should be. It’s refreshing.
The last book I gave as a gift: World War Z by Max Brook. Best zombie book ever.
The nearest book on my desk: Alex Cross’s Trial by James Patterson.
