I've had in my head for a while doing a D&D-themed minicon where every game had to be about D&D, but not a single game was allowed to be any edition of D&D (or OGL spinoffs). This would fit right in.
My game would be a Prime Time Adventures take on the Keep on the Borderlands. I've heard someone talk about using Best Friends for D&D characters. Mountain Witch is an obvious hack, and Storming the Wizards Tower and Red Box Hack are already written to do just this. And someone would surely turn up with Rolemaster.
It sits in the idea basket with nunLARP...
