It's been a while between entries. ^^
I've just spent most of the week helping a friend proof-read her thesis. So whatever spare time I had was tied up in trying my best to feed her corrections on her draft because the thesis is due tomorrow!
This is possibly the second time I've had the pleasure to read such a well-researched essay. Like myself, she's been at it long and hard. She's also had a child during that time, so it's a wonder that she's been able to keep going at it while taking care of her cute little girl. There's one more chapter to read today (it's her introduction), so I really should finish that off pretty soon.
Amongst other things, I've just realized how packed the week(end)s are going to be leading up to the end of the year. Wai-Con 2006 is now barely 3 weeks away! Part of me wants it to be over soon (the manic rush of the con), and part of me wants to continue to leisure of the days before the end of the year. There's also eiri's move out of college, birthday parties (3!), a Christmast trip to Margaret River, parents and brother going travelling... oh, which means watering the garden at the height of summer. Which also means... my dreaded dead thumb (as opposed to the green thumb) is going to have a field day. I've already warned the parents that they'll be lucky if 1/2 the garden survives. :P
But I know lots of people have finished exams and are about to embark on a nice long summer break, while others are having their last summer school break before starting their new jobs at the beginning of the year. To all of you, I say, congratulations and well done! Hope you all have a nice start to the vacation period and enjoy the summer! :D
