drawing to a close

I cannot believe my time in Qingdao is almost over. Only 4 days until we leave for Beijing?! There's still so much I want to do here. Actually, I kinda want to just stay here for another year or so. But I don't think the school would be too happy about that...hehehe. Or my parental units.

On the bright side, I'm looking forward to seeing Beijing again and then getting to see my family! I'll be going straight to the outer banks when I get into Norfolk on Thursday, August 3rd.

Things I'm most looking forward to about going home (minus seeing the people I love):
Italian food
Mediterranean food (hummus and olives....sigh)
Being able to explain myself to people without elaborate hand gestures and a phrase book
A beach with clean water and big waves
No more stupid research project
Clean air

Things I'll miss most about Qingdao:
Being in a big city with tons to do
Public transportation
Hanging out with all the crazy foreigners (Laura and Jackie most of all)
Beautiful weather
My fellow REUers
The relaxing schedule
The food (green beans stirfried with garlic, soy tofu, all tofu, tomato and egg, dan chao mien, mystery dish of the day)
The fact that everything is so cheap
F Shu Dai (bouncing dance floors were meant for me)

I'm sure there's more for both lists but I'll move on now....to work. Must finish project, or pretend to finish project ;)
