I've had DR training for the past two days and refuse to do an exhaustive journal entry about it, so I shall summarize.
1) Parts were very boring
2) I learned some new things
3) The Leonard DC scares me
Now, to summarize my feelings about being passed over as an RA/DC now...
1) I don't care about the RA position anymore, seeing how much training and other stuff they go through in the first several weeks.
2) I am more mad than ever about the DC position for several reasons:
a) The Leonard DC is a militant religious person (for lack of a better word)- who told his boss that he would not be able to work at all on Sundays and would not even have his cell phone on that day), and told his DRs that going to church should be a mandatory part of our job
b) The Leonard DC is a sophomore
c) The Leonard DC has also never worked in Leonard.
d) The Leonard DC plans to continue the lax running of the desk that is in effect all the time (not checking IDs if you know the person by sight, bringing laptops down during non-graveyard shifts, etc.)
I am also going to get paid for way more than 20 hours this week, but what else is new.
I am also not looking forward to move-in week at all, although so far I think I have managed to get only one shift during sort-of-peak hours.
