I've made a decision that I'll be participating in National Novel Writing Month. 40,000 words in the month of September, which works out to roughly 2300 words a day. I've been practicing, and so far it hasn't been difficult to get it all down on a page. I haven't ramped up to 2300 however, that will be the challenge.

I'm intending to post it on LiveJournal. I'll start as soon as I have chapters, even if its before National Novel Writing Month officially starts. I've decided on the storyline I want to explore, and I'll see where 2300 words a day takes me. I think it'll take about an hour of typing each day to hit the target, and I might have to make extra time for it on the weekends to chip away at the total number needed. 39,000 words does not a novel make, 40,001 is the magic number. It will be crap writing compared to what I can do with more time, but the point is to get the rough form out first and worry about the details later.

I'm looking for options on how to post it without swamping people's pages with massive text blocks every day. Its awfully late right now though, so I'll leave the research for another time - if anyone wants to recommend a good option on how to make the text accessible through my LJ while not posting it directly onto my LJ, just let me know. I mean to post the text at least, and if I have an opportunity to also add a quick note about how the writing is progressing on my actual LJ, adjacent to the link.
