So, I found a way to watch Irish television, in Gaelic, over the internet. Unfortunately, I don't know enough to pick good programs, but still, the news in entertaining. It's a crazy language.

Go to WebTV and listen to some. It's really neat to hear. I can only understand snippets, but in class today we watched a show called "Passion Fashion" where guys buy outfits for a girl and whoever picks the outfit she likes best gets to go on a blind date with her. It was amusing to imagine my guy friends having to do that. But the guys on the show pick the worst clothes imaginable. And according to my professor, Ireland is suffering from a bout of weird fashion to begin with. Heh, but my point is, it's amusing.
The station is TG4, which serves the Gaeltacht areas (regions where they all speak Gaelic). I think the station might be a part of the nation-wide effort to revive Gaelic as a national language. It's a good idea, cause "Ni tir gan teanga" (There is no nation wihtout a language).
