Twist

Today, I have to write about a chunk of our time and how it relates to my life.

This is my chance to reflect all the ways in which life is like a novel.

The kind of novel varies. I was going to write about the fascinating relationship between peoples' principles and their actions, but I am having new ideas. I am newly fascinated by the theme of trust- who you can, or cannot, and why and how you would go about discerning. There are plenty of ways to relate this to present day social and political issues, I guess, so many in fact, it's hard to pick.

But who do we trust? Our family? Will they always tell the truth just because you're related to them? Or your friends, do they value you enough, more than themselves, to tell you everything there is to a story, even if it hurts their pride? Does the family trust the friend to know what he is talking about? Does the friend distrust the family because they are older and more removed?
And where does that leave you, stuck between a rock and hard place trying to determine what is true and what is right and your Will isn't working, because you don't know if it really exists...then what?
Why ask these questions if you can't trust anyone's answer?
