Holla all, Tis 10:58 AM July 18, 2007.
I am Currently writing this in the car on my way to Las Vegas!
My mom is driving our suburban with Robert in the font seat next to her, Cody and I are in the middle and Marry(Roberts wife) is sleeping in the back.
Much to my surprise all of us and our crap for the next six days fits in one vehicle.
...I just hope I didn’t forget anything...
Now normally car rides suck ass, but I came well prepared this time.
The computer is plugged into a car charger and I was sure to save all the info I needed to work on avi art before I left.
Plus there are tones of CDs to listen to, drawing stuff, and a few manga and magazines to read. ^^
My only fear is that I’ll come back from this trip like 10-20 pounds heaver because of all the snakes I’ve been eating. ((Plus going out to eat and stuff))
Damn you Gold Fish Cracker why do you have to taste so good!
Luckily we’ll be walking the strip ((and dancing on tables if I can get away with it xD)) So hopefully that will burn it off.
Tis no good at retelling events but I shall try my best once we get there and actually do something..
I’m all excited and stuff!
Now to work on art.
Bye for now
...
Tis 2:26 PM July 19, 07.
Heck Yes, We are in Vegas! And I’m wearing a dress! xD
Currently we are driving around, kinda of lost, looking for the motel.
Mom’s nagging at me because she this I’m not paying attention to the scenery.
But really...I’m not interested in looking out the window when we’re 15 miles way from the strip.
It’s daylight and too far away to see anything anyway.. -_-‘’
She called me a ‘boring child’ for not being fascinated with a bunch of crap-buildings and a dirty skyline of motels/casinos you can’t make out.
*sigh* Oh well...
((I wasn’t able to have access to the computer the rest of this day or the next. So I’m going to have to try and recall it all...sorry for lack of detail and stuff.))
Ok so we get to our motel "The Flamingo" around 3 something.
The check in line was huge and waiting time was suppose to be an hour and 30 min...
Luckily Cody and I where able to ditched the adults and go exploring.
That place was gorges!
The pool area was huge and they had all kinds of strange/exotic birds walking around outside.
While walking around I keep complaining that out of all the birds at ‘The Flamingo’ there where no Flamingo’s.
There were like four parrots , a few chicken looking thing, and a lot of big ass fish, but no flamingos.
...well turns out there are we just hadn’t seen them yet ^_^;;
Mom called Cody on his cell phone to let us know we where checked in and needed to bring up our bags.
We were on the 12th floor.
The rooms weren’t overwhelmingly beautiful but they where very nice, and our window had a pool side view.((I took a picture))
After settling into our room Cody and I once again ditched the adults to go look around all the shops.
It seemed that we were getting along with each other better than we were with our mother. Though that does happens sometimes...
((He and mom had been on each other case a bit as well so the teenagers stuck together while the mother was being difficult.))
We went to the very top floor, level 28, where you could look out over the pool area from a balcony in the hall.
We even snooped around where the meeting rooms were and stuff while waiting. ((those rooms have kinda odd names.))
After a few minute or hours.. we meet up with every one and walked down to the strip to the Wynn.
That’s where we had to go to pick up tickets for the show mom bought online.
It looked really interesting from the previews- then again so did a lot of shows- It was some acrobatic play called Le Reave
But before getting there we walked through a few other motels. One was the place that had the gondolas outside of it...
It was so cool. I wished that I could have seen it at night. How I’d love to ride in a gondola or go to the real Italy.
Anyway, we got to the Wynn and ask the little guy at the desk to get our tickets.
Turns out the site my mom went to must have been on crack because Le Reave- the show we bought tickets for-- was on vacation for the month.
Luckily they didn’t charge all $500 for the tickets on her credit card, just 50 some but I think she got that canceled anyway.
The man we talked to at the desk was so cute, in that way-older-man way ^^
He was dressed in his suit and tie and looked like he’d be a real snob, but he wasn’t.. His laugh and smile seemed pretty fake too but still adorable
In a way he looks like the butler from Ask.com.
I miss that butler...I don’t care if he was too kid-ish!
Anyway.
I loved the inside of the Wynn.
Everything was decorated brilliantly. Very ritzy and expensive but beautiful...
The patio area was the best part though. It had a huge wall of water at the end of this lake all surrounded by veins and trees...And there where gold(painted) or maybe brass sculptures of naked men and women walking out into the lake toward the wall. They looked like they were under a spell or something, being pulled into the middle of the lake...Waling toward the wall of watter even thought the water was close to over their heads. I really wish I could have gotten a picture but you had to ask to be seated out there and we didn’t stay long...
I did take a picture of the ceiling thought... There were giant colorful parasols hanging from the ceiling just above a caf
...So we didn’t get to see a show that day. Kinda of sad but oh well.
Instead we went the mall across the road.
By this time every ones feet were about ready to fall off. And It still wasn’t dark..
Kleenex was doing a commercial urging people to " let it out." and it was going to be put on their website. They had a giant tissue box and markers so people could write what made them laugh out loud. The tissues ladies and every one in our party tried to get Roberts to say one of his joke in front of the camera, but he wouldn’t. Instead he just wrote it on the box.
"What’s the difference between beer nuts and deer nuts? Beer nuts are one dollar each, deer nuts are just under a buck "
No one else but me wrote on the box.
"Stupid People" is all mine said.
Well not much happed in the mall...it kinda sucked actually.
There was a Hottopic and a Borders Book store but that’s about it.
We ate in the food court at a Chinese place. It was really good. I resisted clearing my plate so there was still a lot of everything, but rice when I was done. However I kinda of have to eat while I’m here. With as hot is it is and walking everywhere I need energy, but just enough to keep me going..
((I can’t tell you how many times my legs felt like giving out... And if I turned my head to fast I felt like I’d fall. How sucky would that be though? To faint/fall in Vegas in front of all those people, and then in a dress. >_< ))
So I went to Hottopic and got a new outfit for the next day. ^_^ ((actually my mom got it for me..))
A pair of girl-gothic pants with this sea-green trim((Size Five! I’d like to be a three, but I really need to work out my upper half. I still wear Small-Large depending on brand and how well they fit my boobs. -_-)), a Pickachu tank, and another tank with skulls on it!
The rest of the mall was boring and I was constantly being dragged into stores where I had to stand on aching feet...unfortunately my cell phone got lost in the car ((and still is lost...-_-)) so I had to fallow around someone with a phone.
It was finally starting to get dark when we hit the strip.
All the lights where even more breathtaking then I thought they would be...or at least they are at first , then they all start to seem the same X_x
Still it was beautiful.
There were a lot of times a wished my boyfriend was with me... I felt like slapping myself for thinking this, but I suppose it couldn’t be helped, with all that romantic-couple stuff everywhere... -_-
We walked down to Caceres Palace. It wasn’t really all that, mainly because you couldn’t afford anything there..though I have to say the art work was awesome! We got to watch the statues of the gods. Like every hour these statues of gods in the middle of the mall "come to life" to tell a story. You can’t really understand them to well but it sure is interesting to watch.
After walking all day we finally go back the motel that.
My feet were so sore from standing all day plus the shoes I wore didn’t have enough of a hill...-_-
...
The next day Robert, mom, and Marry all went to a tool show- the whole reason for use even being in Vegas- leaving Cody and I alone.
I sleep until 10, finally deciding that I was wasting all my vacation time in bed. The pervious day I had left my other pair of shoes in the car, so I stool Cody’s phone and called mom to find out where it was parked.
Getting the garage was kind of hard but after a few minutes of wondering aimlessly it was found.
Skipping ahead a while, we whet back to the Wynn to get tickets for a different show.
The same man from before was at the desk. ^^
((Now this is where I get may days all confuzeled so I’m sorry if the events are a bit out of order.))
This time we made sure to get tickets for a show that was actually playing...
"Montly Python’s Spamalot "
It was suppose to be a comedy, and our seats weren’t too bad.
But the show started at 8pm and it was 4 or 5.
Robert was still at the tool show and mom, Cody, Marry and I went to the mall.
Now while your in Vegas there are plenty was to spend time, one shouldn’t be a the mall...frankly that mall sucked.
I had been to Hottopic the day before and the only other good story left unexplored was Borders.
They had a lot of manga that our Barns and Noble doesn’t have but none of them had I heard of, or had interest in.
And they didn’t have my Scrapped Princess witch was depressing. I could only find my Angel Sanctuary, and Tarot Caf
Robert showed up to meet us at Food Court were "we" ate and then went back to the Wynn to catch the show.
It really was a good show, kinda of cute and a little funny.
Personally Le Reave looked better but oh well.
Turns out the play was based of a movie. Cody said he’s seen it and it was really good, so now we’ll have to go rent it ^^
To my delight we walked the strip down to Pairs. ^^ That was one of my favorite buildings...at least the outside of it was.
I really wish I had my own camera! The whole way there I was thinking of photo shoots I needed Kagome to do for me.Haha, if we ever go to Vegas together I’ll have to force her to model for me.^__^
...you know I can see her living in the real Paris... Don’t know why it just seems kinda like her thing, high fashion, modeling, and all that.
The two main reasons I wanted to go to Vegas were shot down sadly...
One was inside the Eiffel Tower you could get Strawberry Daiquiri shaped like Eiffel Tower, and then there was the roller coaster at New York New York that I wanted top ride..When we got to Paris at midnight they had ran out of the cups, but more were coming at 2 then we went to New York but the roller coaster closed at 12. So of course I didn’t get my ride...I did get my Strawberry Daiquiri but it was for Coyote Ugly and not a virgin so I had to share with mom and Cody.. I found that my mom gets tipsy really easily. Between all three of use sharing that drink my mom was affected the most, just laughing and giggling a lot though..
We caught a Taxi and went back to the motel.
...
Our last day in Vegas we didn’t do to much. After checking out we drove to the Stratosphere and looked around the top.
The view was kinda cool, but it would have been much better at night.
They have their own roller coaster type deal of the top of the tower, which I rode alone.
You’re on a teeter-toter thing that tips you a few feet over the edge of the building, you are look pretty straight down.
It was quite boring actually. I had my hands up the whole time too.
Heh, my mom said she was getting sick to her stomach just watching me. And she’s not one to get qeezy. Found that odd...
Unfortunately mother bought the pictures they take when you’re on the ride.. I was smiling a bit so of course it looked crappy.
Afterwards we drove to the Mormon Sate, Uta, no offence anyone I just can’t remember the name of the town...
So anyway. We stayed with these people Robert’s friends with, an older couple and their daughter Kerry- think that’s it...- who’s at least a year younger then me.
The whole family was very nice, but talkative. That little girl just keep talking... though I didn’t mind the company of someone besides my brother.
After everyone was introduced and we got the full tour of their droop-dead-gorgeous home- The wife was a decorator(perhaps not professional but still good) and the husband is a contractor and lays carpet too so of course their home was lovely- we went out to eat at the Olive Garden. They have the best Alfredo Pizza there! Never had it until then ether so it was interesting.
When we got back to their home around 12:30 to 1 AM we were told were we would be sleeping. The daughter and I sat in the living room talking forever, until about 2AM when everyone was told to go to bed.
My mom and I sleep in the girls room. ((I’d love to have a bed set like her’s, it was so comfy and smelled really good too. ^^))
...
We were suppose to go to a lake today and ride jet-skies but it was too windy so instead we went to Zion National Park. That was fun.
Nature hicks are always so nice and pretty(depending on where you are). One spot on the hick was called Weeping Rock. It was so awesome because the side of this cliff was dipping with water. It was just seeping out of the rock! It was so cool to look up at the drops as they feel. They almost seemed to fall in slow motion...Then we got to go play in the river. ^^ My whole legs where sweating from those boots so it felt reeeaaally good. Not to mention it was really pretty too.
Well I could go on and on about crap and junk, but I think you all get the idea. ^^
This trip was a lot of fun, but I wont be walking for a while.
And my fear came true, I think I gained weight...I feel fatter and look fatter too
So I’m going to have to fast and exorcize my lard-ass off the next month or so...-_-
We’ll just see how well that goes.
