Today sucked so far beyond belief. What is boils down to is this: If you dont fucking like me, dont be friends with me, because I dont care. Basically.
yeah so not only did today suck, but i also get to go to work where my day will become worse. Honestly, people there can be really mean. So that will be a blast!
We watched this video on affirmative action today in government. I have really strong opinions about it. I honestly dont think people are as racist as some would like to think. Not to the extent where people in the position to admit students to college are going to say no because you are black, or a miniority. We cater so much to the minority, that people tend to forget about the majority. The question of race shouldnt even be on an application. Being admitted to a college should be based on your performance, not the fact that the college needs to be diverse. Sorry to say this, but if people of minorties dont make the grade, then other people shouldnt be defered just because they want diversity. Everyone should be treated equally. And another thing that bothers me, is "historically black colleges". I just kind of feel like if there was to be a "historically white college" that people would have a heart attack. I understand the whole slavery thing, and the civil rights movement, but cant people move past that? How long will people use that for an, lack of a better term, excuse? I dont know. I dont think i'm racist, I just think things should be fair because I dont think that type of judgement is as prevelant as people would like to think.
