It has been incredibly beautiful out here these past few days. Today, it even got up into the 60s. Just by being outside, I felt this great desire to go hike up Pikes Peak or some other picturesque mountain / rock formation in the area. As I entered the library, I bumped into a couple of friends and one of my students was sitting next to the computer I have become accustomed to working on, and each of these people has mountain hiking as hobbies, so they recommended some places for me to check out. Apparently, there is one path that winds back and forth across a creek until the walls open up into a gully filled with waterfalls. If the weather holds up through the week, I hope to make my first major hiking expedition.
