I'd thought I was done with flaily kitchen adventures for my life. Like, with the end of grad school, I figured I'd pretty much gotten cooking down well enough that i wouldn't have to, say, call my mother in a panic, asking her how to make a hamburger BECAUSE OMG THERE IS MEAT IN A PAN AND WHAT IF I AM DOING IT WRONG

TT_TT dear god, right? how did i manage to do this? later i had the door and the window open trying to air out the apartment in the middle of freaking winter.

oh, never mind. i saw why. burners obviously don't make very good shelf spaces XDDD

my kitchen's quite small, and doesn't have very much counter space on top of that, so things get put on that back burner because I need to be able to put them somewhere.

This is why you should definitely learn to carry large baskets on your head. Place to put things when cooking!

because you left this at like, 3:30 am, i am going to let the absolute ridiculousness of this comment slide. when, in all of the many years you have known me, have i ever shown the grace or balance necessary to carry a basket on my head, much less a basket full of things while i flail around the kitchen?
