old news, new hat
somehow, suddenly, i am killing my mint plant. Maybe I am overwatering--the dirt was a lot damper than i expected when i checked it today (unfortunately just after I'd put some more water in the bottom of the dish, which I then did my best to soak up with napkins). the basil is not any more dying than it usually is, though I think I need to repot it because I think that there is mold growing in the dirt. I'm not sure how to rescue it, really. I am ill-equipped for not killing things.
the rose bush is positively thriving, though. I'm still getting blooms, and I've had to prune it back a little because, unfortunately for it, there is precious little dirt in a 20th story apartment and it will have to live in a pot on a table for will hopefully be a long and flourishing life. Other things that are thriving include the Amaryllis I've got at the office that Nancy gave me for Christmas. It is probably over two feet tall, and has four giant flowers in various states of blooming. I had to tie it upright this morning because it is too heavy for itself.
in less literally vegetative news, it is the 20th of January, and I've already hit 11% of my 300k wordcount for the year. The fact that I've fallen hard and fast for inception fandom is probably helping with this. fingers crossed it keeps up.
