Maki leans close to the mirror, mouth open in a delicate 'O.' She didn't know why it worked exactly, but somehow opening her mouth seemed to help keep her eyes open steadily enough for her to apply the make up all in one go. She twirled the little black brush, then pulled it up through her lashes, mascara making them look longer and fuller. She'd already drawn the thinnest of lines on her top and bottom lids in eyeliner, so the mascara was the last step. She was going for a mostly natural look, so she skipped eye shadow entirely. No reason to overdo it, not when she was going out with Jin.

Maki applies her lipstick, a pretty, demure pink and then gives herself one last once-over in the bathroom mirror. Earrings, check. Eyes, check. Lips, check. Is she forgetting anything? Her purse and shoes are by the door.

Then, almost as if thinking about the door were some cosmic signal, the door bell rings. Jin's waiting in the lobby, so she tells him she'll be right down through the intercom, then slips into her heels quickly and grabs her purse on the way out.

She gives him a hug when she sees him, but not a kiss. It'll ruin his make-up. His lipstick's several shades darker than hers, just like his skirt is several inches short. The shadow smudged around his eyes is dark and messy; it makes him look easy. Maki mutters, "Good girl," in a low voice, and then licks her thumb and uses it to fix the corner of Jin's mouth. His habit of messing with his mouth constantly has it smudged.

Later they'll go back to her place. Now they'll go out and hit a few clubs, tease some guys, then leave together without them. She'll reward him if he's good or punish him if he's bad. Either way, Maki will show Jin who her pretty lady is. Next weekend, Jin will come pick her up again and they'll go on another date.

I LOVED THIS. I was totally not expecting Jin to dress up as a girl aksdfj. I really like your Maki; I remember reading your Maki/Miyavi fic ages ago, and adoring your in control Maki then, and I love how you've returned to her here. I have no doubt that Jin will have a fabulous time ;)

everyone always writes her as really sweet, so it's kind of like 'what if she weren't, really. or what if she were, but not all the time, or not in every way'. plus, jin makes a fab girl XD
