the lab had an awkward coworker lunch on wednesday. luckily laura was chatty and dan likes to listen to himself talk so at least there wasn't a lot of awkward silences.
weather was crazy here today too. we had a HUGE downpour around 2pm that lasted for maybe 20 min tops. BOOM raining. BOOM sunny.
our crazy downpour was later and heralded by an ENORMOUS clap of thunder from a blue cloudless sky then everything turned black suddenly and we were deluged.
but it's still too darn hot.
I have to think a lot about that blog post. I think I agree, sort of.
it's not all personal experience for me, but it rings true as a general, collective experience, and i dunno. i think it's a useful resource for when you need to say things you don't know how.
Ugh awkward conversations at work. All my coworkers were 40+ women; having coffee with them every afternoon was the strangest thing ever, especially when they planned nights out. Or complained about their husbands...
That article was interesting and certainly left me thinking about things. I never quite know how I feel about feminism, but I think I see her point there.
i cannot even imagine doing that every day D: i think i would just. idk, die from a terminal case of awkward and trying so hard to think of something safe to talk about.
i think feminism, like most -isms is kind of different for every person you ask. i see it as working towards the acknowledgment of women as actual, entire human beings, so i have a hard time understanding why anyone would not want that.
it's been a good weekend so far! i haven't written enough, but i did other things, so :D how is yours?
