jubilation!
pens won their first game this series (AKA the stanley cup finals!) 4-2, in pittsburgh, so this muy exciting! also, there were no octopi.
tego came over after work, and we watched A Scanner Darkly which was....really very confusing. If I learned anything from this experience, it is that drugs = BAD. also, drugs = really, really confusing.
based on three months worth of actually keeping track, i seem to be on a 40 day cycle. wtf?
I have figured out that the thing that bothers me about bad!linda is not that she comes to me with mistakes i've made--goodness knows i make them, particularly when I don't really know what it is that you want from me. It's that she also puts in random changes with the mistakes, things she didn't tell me to do, things I can't be expected to know when her instructions consist of 'put in 2008 numbers, and format based on the rest of this form.' Particularly when she changes descriptions of 2007 data--how am I supposed to know that? And it's not that she's changing things, or wants me to make the changes. Also, fine. It's that she frames them as more mistakes. Those changes, I feel like she's saying it's my fault that it's not the way she wanted, even if there's no way I could divine what she wanted because, hey, in some cases, those changes go directly against her instructions because something changed somewhere. Maybe she's not trying to imply that these extra things are my fault, but it sure comes across that way.
Well, the other thing I don't like is that if she's unclear about something, it's my fault for not understanding her, and that she never apologizes for anything (as far as I can see), even when she's actually wrong. Small things, but important for NOT PISSING PEOPLE THE FUCK OFF.
ok, so despite the rant, today was actually a pretty fun day.
