Today I went to the kite festival (despite the less than perfect weather) with Krisztego to meet stillesprite. while there, we ran into someone she knew named Tom. i think of stillesprite as my city friend. I don't really take advantage of the great place i'm living except for the fact that i live every day without needing a car.
it was foggy and drizzly, and there wasn't much wind, but there were a lot of pretty kites, and people having fun trying to get them up into the air. There were also kite battles! That was pretty cool, though they really had to struggle because again the lack of good wind.

Tego also flew a kite for the first time in her life. I have photographic evidence.
we cut out pretty early though because the weather wasn't good. originally, it was supposed to be a picnic get-together, but that wasn't going to work out.
This morning i had to go to best buy, so i took the 25 down past my old stop and then tried to find a way to get around the highway. I did find one eventually, but it was an incredibly sketch neighborhood in Sidewalkless, VA. I also spent a bit of time walking along the edge of an offramp (again, no sidewalk), and then jaywalking across streets, often without a walk signal but sometimes also minus crosswalks entirely. I plan to just wait for the bus next time i have to go instead of trying to walk it. I don't care how long i have to wait, some things aren't worth it.
In the end, they were very nice to me. They were going to let me do an all-out exchange, but they were out of the model mom had mailed, so I had the option of buying the next price up or getting a coupon for store credit because it was past their 30 day policy. good customer service, though.
