and it like totally has nothing to do with your prompt either. how much can i freaking fail. at least i got the pairing right. ...right? :\ and it ended up long. take that as an i'm sooooorrry. :(
He doesn't think anything of the way he suddenly starts spending more time with Yamapi. He just accepts the invitations for dinner or drinks without a second thought; thinks of it as just friendly camaraderie. (He ignores the way he spends too much time in front of the mirror getting ready and chalks it up to just wanting to look good for potential girls at the clubs. It isn't as though he's dressing up for Yamapi because that's just a whole other level of things he can't begin to deal with.)
But before he knows it, he's out with Yamapi almost every night. And Yamapi, slightly tipsy with too many drinks, leans his head on Shige's shoulder and says things like Shige is so nice, and his laugh makes Shige's skin tingle in ways he never would have thought possible. And Yamapi looks up at Shige through shining eyes, presses lips to the corner of Shige's mouth because he can't quite reach him completely, and everything in Shige stills, squares in on this one moment.
Yamapi moves back, smile far more radiant than Shige has ever seen, and he takes Shige's hand and leads him towards the exit. Shige realizes then that perhaps the reason he let himself so easily accept Yamapi's invitations, so nervously gets ready, and now, so eagerly follows him out the door must be because he was looking for something only Yamapi could give him. Something only Yamapi realizes he needs.
