Something Kaori's husband told her after dinner on Friday (paraphrased into English from Kaori's constructed dialogue in Japanese): Kuro-san understands everything; Nikki-san I'd say probably understoond 80, 90%; and James-kun, maybe he understood around half, maybe not. Kuro-san is weird; he doesn't count. But I'm surprised that Nikki, who seems like such a mature, normal (American) woman would (bother) learn(ing) Japanese so well.
XDDDD i am so amused. At the very least, it says something about Japanese ideologies about (American) JFL learners.
there's a
lunar eclipse tonight 10 PM EST. If you've got a clear sky, check it out. It sounds pretty cool.
Got a quick coffee (or apple cider, in my case) with
winterspel @ Caribou Coffee @ Metro Center. Got all the paperwork taken care of ^^; and sat for a bit before both of us hurried off in opposite directions on the Red Line.
sillyandmorbid: What the hell, I can do math with fractions.
;__; i probably should have taken
mycroftnext up on her offer to help me with my 6th grade level math phonetics homework. Oh well. Over now. They drop the 3 lowest. (this is one of them. DDD: fractions). I think, I think I'm just going to do what I did in math classes for years when i didn't care enough to put in real effort and just kind of fake it until the section is over. It's always worked out for me before :D (also, I'm really fast with Praat compared to the class (since i've used it before), so it's one thing I don't have to worry about)
you know what would be an interesting paper? intertextuality in rap & hip-hop.

eta2: i ate the rest of my cookies yesterday evening to augment a mediocre dinner, and now i'm sad, because i want one now. I wish i had something to snack on. (that is, i wish i had something to eat that i don't have cook first)
