so, i have been thinking about buying a new car lately. i have a decent amount of money in the bank, a most likely large christmas bonus coming, and my dad recently purchased a nice car from my grandmother (meaning i get to trade my current car in for extra money instead of giving it to my father).
i still live at home, so i should be able to handle a relatively large payment. this is of course assuming that moving to texas isn't happening immediately.
i would like to put somewhere around 12g down and pay off the car in 2-3 years max. if i quit buying stupid things, i should be able to pay off somewhere around 1,200 off of the loan a month, so there's a possibility of paying it off in a little less than 2 years.
additionally, a buddy of mine knows someone high up at the santa ana auto mall. another buddy of mine recently got a mini cooper s from this friend-of-a-friend and paid msrp for it (when they currently have 5g or so mark-up), so i should be able to get a good deal.
so, i've been looking at the following:
nissan 350z track coupe ~$36,000 msrp
mazda rx-8 grand touring - ~$34,000 msrp
mazda speed3 fully loaded - ~$27,000 msrp
mazda speed6 fully loaded - ~$35,000 msrp
volkswagen gti fully loaded - ~$31,000 msrp (this comes with a free guitar at the moment, haha)
subaru wrx sti - ~$36,000 msrp
i took the mini cooper s off the list because i'm too tall for one (i tried sitting in my friend's). i'm guessing how the car fits me will be a major factor in my decision, but anyone else have any advice? maybe something that's not on the list that i should check out?
the ones closer to 35 would probably have to wait another 6 months or so, but i'm fairly patient.
bleh, too many choices.
