(no subject)

Well, we are on the downward slope. Kev and I will be DONE with basic sciences in 8 days. Its a great feeling to say the least. We did sign up for the comprehensive exam following our subject exams just to torture ourselves. Really, we just wanted to see what we need to work on over the break. I can tell you now that I need to work on biochem, physio and refresh my anatomy. Its been a while and even though they aren't large factors for the USMLE, they are important in the 'bigger picture.'

I ended up doing really well again this semester. I think I just really got the hang 'med school' because staying up late and burying myself in books just isnt as hard as it used to be. I am exhausted and recently unmotivated... but I will still get things done in the end. I calculated all of my grades and figured that I can fail my final exams and still pass all of my courses... its an awesome feeling to not HAVE to study.

My little brother told me yesterday that he has decided that he wants to become a doctor. After about 30 min of trying to get him to change his mind, he never backed down... so I guess he likes the idea of having no life for a few years. I told him he is officially in "Ana's pre-med bootcamp" and that it will not be a pretty or easy next couple of years. I already hooked him up with all of the clubs he needs to join and classes he needs to take. I'm also going to help him charter a AMSA chapter at his school. Its going to be a great way for him to stay involved in medicine and it will be awesome on his applications. Everyone in the medical community knows what AMSA is and the fact that he started a chapter will make him look SO good. Hes already doing really well in all of his classes so I have high hopes for him. With my help, I know he will be ready for med school and will have a better chance at going to a Florida school.

I cant wait to go home. As of now, Kev and I are FLAT BROKE. We are waiting on our next loan to be dispursed hopefully very soon. Thank goodness we already paid for rent and all of our local bills. Everything else is just going to have to wait.

I'm trying to get all of my 'winter' clothes to bring home since we never wear anything besides our uniforms and comfy clothes to study in. Last time I came home I ended up getting pretty sick. I learned that the cold weather doesnt make people sick, its staying indoors.... peple just associate winter with being sick and catching colds. I guess we will find out. Last year I got sick within a day or two of being home... this year will hopefully be different.

Alright, its time for a mini nap before I start studying again.
