friday five
hey all! long time no see.
There's a list thingy on LJ called "the Friday Five." Link available on request. Even though for me it is not really Friday until Saturday rolls around (don't ask -- work schedule) I'll answer them this time. I've been on with the thing for a while, but just haven't answered yet. I have been Extremely Busy and Such (tm).
1. How much time do you spend on the Internet daily?
I am on the internet so much, I ought to have it jacked into the back of my skull. I'm serious. I'm on it all day at work, both for business and more personal (read: interesting) things, and then I go home to hang with the kid for a bit, and then I'm decompressing with a game on my computer -- half the time an online game.
2. What are your favorite 3 websites?
I suppose I should put in 4, because I found this list on LJ in the first place. Let's see:
LiveJournal (duh)
YouTube (plus Google Video, etc), because they're generally pretty fun
various webcomic sites (lists available on request)
anything that shows art, especially pencil drawings
GuildPortal.com, the home of my main supergroup/guild on City of Heroes
and in my copious amounts of free time, I'm playing with sites like Flickr, Tehnorati and so on. What can I say? I like my toys.
Generally speaking, most of the free time I have at work is taken up with LJ and chat.
3. Do you eat at your computer?
Yes, mainly because we don't have a horizontal surface in the house that is NOT a fricking shit magnet. I try to keep it clean, though. My house is cluttered, but I can't abide by food messes.
4. Pick one and why - Reading the news online or in a newspaper?
I prefer a newspaper; I like the feel of the paper in my hands and such. Lacking much time, though, I usually get my news-fix online.
5. How many people are on your instant messenger buddy list?
I collect friends on my buddy list like some folks collect stamps. Or bottlecaps. Or teddy bears. Or whatever. I have not deleted many from my Tango fleet days, as well as the others I've collected -- the people I wanted to help, the people I wanted to mess with, the people that at one time were cool for one obscure reason or another. I've been cleaning my friends out, though, and there are a mere handful that I talk to on a regular basis.
