something to remember

Sep 20, 2005 03:06

Reminder to self:

  • Read more poetry ... at least one a day
  • Give in to the creative impulse more often; that is, don't choke the life out of it before it has a chance to grow
  • drink more water
  • eat breakfast

with practise, I'll get it right. That's the problem, is that I've not been practising.

You see John....that very notion is the antithesis of creativity.....Creative Power FLOWS....It is not a matter of practicing.....You are like the Hoover Damn standing in the way of the flow of creative vitality....the more you quantify it and PRACTICE it the stronger and higher the damn....You must let go of your fear remove yourself and your ego from the current and let GO....then and only then will creativity and inspiration come freely to you.....There is FAR too much JOHN in the way for ART to ever move and flow into any medium......

I sort of understand what you're trying to say, I think. But this is starting to sound like the "just take a leap of faith" thing that I've never been good at, and that I've been asked to do since I was small.

You say "just let go." But I don't think I really understand what that means, or how to enact it. I agree with you, that I have too much ego in the way. There must be a way or a method to get around that, though ... isn't there?

Please, I'm sincerely asking for help here :)

*points to Benson*

I agree... it looks like you are using rationale... and guilt... to be creative

instead of that, how about you say "I will let my muse have reign at least once a day"
