MILO PONY
Music for the Masses
The Eclectic Boogaloo
10 tracks
This is how experimental DIY is made! This album was made with no preconceptions about songs or rehearsals, recorded between 10PM and 4AM with samples and instruments culled from pawn shops, thrift stores, Salvation Armies and whatever was lying around at the time the recording was made. They call this project "regurgitation of the mind... and deification of the soul," and I call it fucking brilliant. How an album can be so out that it's in is what makes this album a joy to listen to. This is experimental but accessible, weird but familiar, dissonant yet tuneful. The fact that this album was made without the use of hallucinogens continues to boggle my mind long after the sound ceases from my crackling speakers. purevolume.com/MiloPony (Joel Simches)
