1. if you had to either compromise your ideals, and i'm talking your core ideals, or kill a loved one, which would you pick?
It's a tough call to make. Everyday I notice what's wrong with people's ideals and their own moral fiber. It comes down to that I would have to kill a loved one. It's just that, I was bred into my ideals by my parents and living my own life. I'm glad they've raised me the way that they have because they've taught me to respect every person regardless of what they say or do. I'm not religious, but every person on Earth has a right to the same basic rights as everyone else. As you grow up, you compromise these rights as you become the person you become. I can't agree with that all the time, but I won't be the person burning crosses or spraypainting anti-semite mottos on Jewish graves.
2. if you had to watch one movie every day for the rest of your life, which would it be?
That's an incredibly difficult question as well. First off, I would want to watch something uplifting and exciting, otherwise I would go nuts watching depressing stuff every day. I would have to pick Taxi Driver or Clockwork Orange. Right now I'm going to say Taxi Driver. It has a great set of circumstances and has a great ending where everything that seems wrong is righted. This answer will change certainly, but that's how I'm feeling now.
3. are words and music better together or separately?
From a musicians standpoint, words are what draw people into a song and are normally the most memorable in any popular song. However, some dramatic songs have no words at all, and they would dumb the song down if they did. However, most jazz and most classical don't have words and it would be stupid to have words on them now. Right now, I believe that question can't be answered because it depends on the backdrop that every word or note has to be played upon. There is no better or wrong. Though I lean to the music. heh
4. which present day scene do you find most annoying?
I find all scenes annoying at different times. I find the people who think shopping at salvation army is gross not cool. I don't like the people who wear salvation army-esque clothing but talk like they are obsessed with top 40 radio. I don't like people who come into my studio and ask why they don't sound like Led Zep II when the final product is made. I don't like fake people. I certainly don't like people who take credit for other people's work while the other person just gets shat on. I might've gone off on a tangent, but no matter.
5. if possible, name a song that has actually made you cry.
The last song that made me watery-eyed was Rope on Fire by Morphine. I was incredibly depressed and this song just brought it down. It's a great song though and the lyrics are amazing. The other song is "Velouria" by The Pixies, just something amazing happened while that song was playing. Alot of songs though make me emotional those are the only ones where I could feel the waterworks a brewin'.
Rockin...
Now are here 5 questions from my favorite lovable teddy bear of a man, Alex Peters!!
1. What was the first song you learned on guitar?
"Ironman" by Black Sabbath. My uncle taught it to me completely out of key on the wrong strings on a classical guitar.
2. Desert island, you can only have five cds, what are they?
Too hard!!!
Queens of the Stone Age- Queens of the Stone Age
Mission of Burma- Signals, Calls, and Marches
The Pixies- Surfer Rosa
Kyuss- Blues for the Red Sun
Okkervil River- Don't Fall in Love with Everyone You See
3. What was the most absurd event that ever happened at Nashoba Regional?
The strangest thing I can think of was told to me by a friend, the whole "Sewer Cat" incident. This happened while nashoba was undergoing construction, open holes were common in every room, and crap was strewn about all over the place. During a physics class a mangey old cat crawled out of one of these holes. The class kind of went "What the hell?!?!" and they called Animal control. Apparently, the thing had been caught in the basement of the school since construction of the building began. That's the weirdest thing I can think of.
4. Four way cage death match, who would win? Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri, Chris Goss, or GG Allin?
Chris would win hands down. Even though Josh and Nick would never fight him. Here's how it would go down...Chris and Josh would get in a fight about a guitar sound and the ghost of GG Allin would come down screaming something about killing his wife. Nick would get into it because Josh was carrying his drugs and wouldn't give them back. Chris would bitchslap Josh and Nick and tell them to calm down and they would since Chris essentially made them. Chris would then do his crazy research and find some ancient spell to free the spirit of GG and all would be right with the world.
5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years...I see myself still in school getting my masters somewhere. But afterwards, I want to design some killer piece of pro audio equipment. Every studio all over the world will want 5 of them. I will get a ton of money and open up my 24 track analog studio using all vintage Neve, Urei, and Drawmer equipment. It would be the ultimate indie studio of all indie studios and everyone would want to record there. I would only keep it open to indie rockers and local bands though and let them do it for free while I engineered and produced it all. That's what I want to do.
Soooo... THATS ALL SHE WROTE FOLKS!
