Okay, so I have approximately 8 billion user pics, which I've been stupidly paying for year after year, mostly because I didn't feel like deciding which ones to delete. This time around though, I decided I'd only pay for the first tier of extra pics (because really, do I need more than 100? probably not) but I forgot to make the payment...
No problem, right? I mean, they've only been inactive for about 5 seconds, since I just got the notification email saying that they'd expired, right? So I pay LJ for my lovely 100 user pics, and when I go back into my account? ALL SEVENTY user pics over the 30 that are free? When they switched back from inactive to active? ALL THE INFO HAS NOW BEEN REMOVED. All the descriptions, and more importantly, all the icon credits. No keywords, no comments. On any of my icons except for the first 30. Which are largely the ones I use the least. :D

And just...why. Why would you do this to me, LJ?!

And oh, yeah, I guess it also means that pretty much all my posts now have my default icon instead of the one I used when I made the post. Noooo big deal there at all. I wasn't attached to any of those posts. Nope.
And I mean, I'm sure some of you have experienced this ridiculousness yourselves? BUT I HAD NO IDEA THIS WOULD HAPPEN. And I am sad.
