Rock Musical Bleach

Whoa, that brought back a lot of memories. At one point I was attempting to teach myself on of the dances. :D

Wait. *__* You... You know about the Bleach Musicals?!? You've watched them?!? *flails* I... can't believe it! This is what has taken me to Japan...oh, something like 8 times - to watch these musicals! XD Because I'm obsessed with the actor who plays Hitsugaya. ;) (Who also played Kikukaru Eiji in the Prince of Tennis musicals, first cast. :D)

Sorry, it's just so crazy that you know about them and I never knew!

*not making sense* That's awesome though. Yes. :D

:D :D :D :D :D I have ~*hidden depths*~

I was a HUGE Bleach fan at one point back in the day. Read the fic, bought the manga, downloaded the anime. I thought Rock Musicals were AWESOME and I downloaded the first two (before there were any more, waaay back) and watched them a bajillion times. I used to leave them on for background music.

I didn't actually know any of the actors though. Or fly out to Japan to see them. So you win! But it's a pretty awesome Fandom Moment. \o/

*flaily flail* You do indeed have hidden depths!! :D

But GUH. Okay, so I've been in the fandom since the very very beginning of those musicals and the second one?? I want to see that one live! That was the first one I went over to see! And it's so SMALL compared to what they ended up developing into by the end. *__* (And I say 'the end', but they're actually still going, just with a new, much younger cast. ^_~)

BUT GUH. So many memories with those musicals~ <3 OH. OH. So you know Silent Wish~! Which is still one of my favorite songs ever~ <333 ( ... )

OMG you saw the second one life. I'm having a crazy fangirl moment.

(Of course they're still going. Oh, Japan. Never change.)

That video! The wigs! I AM RELIVING THE PAST. Sileeeeent weeeeeesh. How do these things even exist???

FANDOM MOMENT!

(How did they even manage that??? That's just ridiculous! I have to go find ALL the videos!!)

I did. And it was SO amazing. *_* Just...seeing them all on stage, and realizing they were, you know real people and all of that? (Because by that point, I was majorly obsessed with the two actors up there in my icon, so it was just... GUH. SO GREAT. *happy sigh* XD)

(LOL, right? Tenimyu is still going, for god's sake. I think it's like... the 9th cast or something? IDEK anymore. I have clearly lost track. XD ( ... )

Eeeee, that is SO AWESOME.

Good thing I saw some of them with subtitles, or I would have been COMPLETELY lost. Even with it I would zone out to the music and just assume words I didn't understand were Japanese. Even when they totally weren't.

I WISH I LIVED CLOSER TOO. OMG, we would totally watch All The Things. (I'm looking into grad school in CA, maybe maybe. I'll keep you posted?)

I will let you know if I can't find them! The site I originally got them on is probably waaaay down now. *feels old* How many are they up to now? (Or how many have Your Actors :) OMG, they probably made musicals for the stuff from after I stopped reading...

Yeah, I tend to prefer the subtitles too, so even though I've got the DVDs, I also have the subtitled versions on my computer. ;) It's easier with the Live shows to understand the gist (or just enjoy the singing/dancing) :D

(Ooh, which grad schools are you looking at? That would be AWESOME if you came to CA. *_*)

I have NO idea where the subtitled versions would be up now. So um. Yeah, let me know if you want me to burn a DVD! ;) And hmm... *thinks* After Saien the original cast did three "story" musicals, and then three Lives. The story ones are: The Dark of the Bleeding Moon (which covered Rukia being captured, up until she's about to be executed), No Clouds in the Blue Heavens (which goes through the execution, and that arc) and The All (which was basically a re-doing of all the stories into one big musical). And then there were 3 Bankai Lives, which were just songs, with no real story. They add a LOT more characters as they go though, so that by the end you've got a good number of the captains and vice-captains represented. :D

(Well, I'm having a life crisis over law school vs. a wild attempt at a PhD (vs just Getting A Job) so...Stanford? (Yeah, I know.) I actually have an awesome GPA, so if I manage to maintain it, I'm going to dedicate my summer to LSAT prep and see what happens.)

OMG you explanation just helped me SO MUCH I CAN'T EVEN. I tried to google torrents and I found one called "The All" and I was all "Oh, good, all the musicals!" and there was only one file and I was SO CONFUSED.

And yay! I read all the way through the Ruida arc! I don't remember it all, but I won't be HORRIBLY confused. *notes the torrents to find*

Despite working in the UC system, I have nothing against Stanford! (Except maybe that the commute is too long on a daily basis for me to consider jobs there? ^_~) Definitely keep me posted on your decision though. *_*

And yay! I'm glad to help. Any other questions you have, just let me know! I can imagine it would be very strange, not having looked at this stuff in a while. (I feel similarly when I try to figure out WTF is going on with Tenimyu nowadays, for example. ^_~)

And yeah, one of the nice things about these musicals (as opposed to the obscure Japanese stage plays I sometimes also watch :P) is that the story something you've heard before, so it makes it just a tiny bit easier to piece the plot together. ;)
