Yes! I was sat there going 'wtf, parseltongue?? MERLIN IS A SLYTHERIN??'
I commented to Dad how conveniently everyone around Merlin dies/is knocked unconscious whenever he has to do magic to save Camelot. I HOPE OWAIN ISN'T DEAD *emoface*
I really wanted Arthur to hear Merlin telling whatshisface (Bellinor?) that he was his son. And for him to just assume it meant nothing because OBVIOUSLY MERLIN IS TOTALLY INEPT AT EVERYTHING AND COULDN'T POSSIBLY HAVE MAGIC and to keep his secret. They had so many lovely scenes in this ep, I think that would have been a nice show of their trust and friendship (no matter how much they get embarrassed about it and insult eachother instead XD).
Dear writers. EMPLOY ME SO THAT YOU MIGHT KEEP THE FANGIRLS HAPPY. Love, me.x
Arthur got Gwen at the end, and Merlin got Gaius. UNFAIR, I FEEL.
In other news, the dragon scared the hell out of me. With his glowy eyes and UTTER PSYCHOTIC-NESS. Ugh. Yuck, yuck, yuck. I knew Merlin was too nice to kill him though. Am slightly annoyed by Merlin-daddy's death. Is it because of this whole 'you're a hero, you may only have one parent at the most' rule? Come on, this ain't Disney! I just want Hunith to have a happy ending *sniff*
Bradley's chest makes me happy. I want to curl up and use it for a pillow. NOM.
And now I have written more in your entry about this ep than I did on mine I shall shut up and go away. Night!
WAIT. I DIDN'T MENTION THE HILARITY THAT WAS ARTHUR'S ARSE BEING SLUNG OVER A HORSE. I was totally waiting for Arthur to come into screen with Merlin on his horse, Merlin holding him there, but no, just his ARSE in the bottom left of the screen, slung across a horse.
I did lol mightily.
(I use my giggling dragon icon with hesitance. He still scares me...)
Yes!! XD I was thinking the same thing, and the language he spoke was totally all slithery like parseltongue, so... Yeah, I think he's totally a Slytherin. XD
I hope Owain isn't dead too! @_@ I mean...if all those guys are really dead, who the hell is left? XD;;; Then again, Camelot does seem to have a suspiciously constant supply of knights, despite all these disasters. :P
And yeah, I totally wanted Arthur to overhear them talking. ;__; And before that I really, really wanted Merlin to tell him about what Gaius had said. I mean geez, Arthur was begging ;__; And you're right, they totally could have played it off with Arthur telling him "Well, it's clear you didn't get any of his magic dragonlord genes, Merlin" and that would be that! ^_~
I was cracking up at that sweeping music playing, as Merlin reunites with Gaius. XD;;; HOWEVER. I was grateful that we didn't have to hear Arthur say something drivel-y to Gwen at the end. "I did it all for you", or whatever. :P His silence was quite nice. (And I didn't even catch what she said. O_o)
DRAGON = SCARY. Yes. *_* And that chest~ *swoons* ^^;
And wow, yes, Arthur on the horse was quite funny. XD At first I thought Merlin was just going to leave him there, but then he redeemed himself by asking for Bellinor's help. :P
Haha, and I think I wrote more in this comment than in my entry too. =D
Which is sad, cos Arthur's totally a Gryffindor. OH NOES, STARCROSSED LOVERS D:
Camelot must be shipping in knights from Gaul or something, because otherwise they'd have killed off the entire population at the rate they're going. It's amazing any of them live long enough to see the Round Table.
I think she said 'I thought I'd lost you'. Bleh. I lovelovelove Angel Coulby (and don't know who to be jealous of in the kissing scenes, her or Bradley :/) but they have made Gwen a bit of a 'I'll wait for you, Arhur *swoon*' girl. I preferred it when she and Morgana were kicking ass in Ealdor. Oh, for the good old days...
I actually choked when I realised that was Arthur's arse coming into view. And then giggled so much Dad had to turn the volume up XD Maybe it's just this unhealthy fixation I have on Bradley's butt, who knows? XD;;;;;;;;;
I do wonder sometimes if the writers are gonna pull a fanfic plot device on us at some point and have it where Arthur knows. I mean, the way he was pestering Merlin this ep? It was like 'Come oooooon, Merlin, I know you have this big dark secret, why won't you tell meeeeee?? *whine*'
I think I would love them forever if in the end Arthur just knew *__* He's just had SO many opportunities to overhear something, or to see something, you know? I just feel like with these last few episodes, Merlin's just been getting bolder and bolder about using magic when Arthur's around. That scene last week when he's making the footprints on the path, and Arthur is what, 5 feet away? XD;; And here too, it's like...Okay, Arthur got knocked around by the dragon, but was he really completely out to the point where nothing registers in his subconscious? I've been thinking about that since the end of last season actually, when Merlin's desperately trying all those spells over Arthur after he's injured by the questing beast. *_* It just seems like at this point, it wouldn't take much for everything to suddenly click for Arthur. And kdjfhkdjfhk I really want it to happen. XDDDD
Anyway. :D Gwen. :/ I think the only thing that really disappointed me in this episode was how no one talked really about Morgana, and how we didn't really get to see Gwen being upset about her being gone. ;__; All through season one, we see how strong of a bond they have and that's been so minimal this season, with the whole Arthur thing, and it just makes me kind of sad. ;__; Not to mention how weird it seems for her to just be sitting there waiting for Arthur like that. *sigh* :/
...your reply was lengthy enough that I thought it was Jamie's entry and replied to it. :P Sorry about that. ^_~
PS, though: I made the same observation re: everyone randomly getting knocked out just in time for Merlin to do magic. :P And I was also really hoping that Arthur would find out about Merlin's dad, mainly because then he could better understand what Merlin was going through... But ah, well. Arthur did at least give him a Manly Shoulder Punch Of Affection (TM), which made me very happy indeed. XD
All I wanted was for someone to share Merlin's pain :( Merlin was there for Arthur dealing with seeing the 'spirit' of his mother, I wanted Arthur to be there for Merlin :( But yes, they had some lovely banter and aww-manly-punch affectionate moments XD
