Pretty much after The Shrine, except for Prodigal and the race cars, I wanted to send every SGA writer and producer off to Siberia as punishment for their mishandling of all the characters.
I love John's voice here; it sounds just like him and what he might think; it matches up with his expressions before and during the episode; and the kiss scene is beautifully handled. Their arguing - and Rodney's misinterpretation of John - broke my heart a little, and their mutual discovery and understanding put it all back together. The last scene was cute and sweet and very them.

And yeah, I'm feeling much the same way re: the writers right about now. XD;;; I'm trying to convince myself to keep watching season 5 (I've seen two episodes past The Shrine), but I'm really, really not happy about this Keller thing. And honestly, I don't think it's just because of John? In general, I just kind of hate seeing romance between two main characters like that. Especially for a character like Rodney, it just doesn't make sense to me. *sighs* :/
But anyway, I'm really glad you liked the fic. :) It makes me really happy to hear that things seemed to match up here, just with how John is feeling in the fic, and what we see in that episode. :)
Thank you again for reading and commenting!

I'm going to try and answer your question about the relationship without too many spoilers, and I'll preface this by saying that I *know* what happens in the end, but I haven't watched the last three episodes (except Vegas and part of Infection) because of how horrified I was by Brain Storm. But read with caution - this might be a little too spoilery for you.
It's not Katie Brown-like at all. You do see them together, and in fact, Keller gets a whole frakking episode all focused on her - that would be Identity. Which I skipped because ew ( ... )

I keep telling myself that they're just writers and that what they decide to put on the page for them for this episode, or that episode doesn't change the characters that I fell in love with, but... Damn if they aren't making it HARD. ;__ ( ... )
