Back!

So I've returned safely from my very rushed but very fun weekend in New York. \^o^/

To summarize... I got in Saturday late morning, went straight to my friend Karen's baby shower, which was really nice, completely non-traditional, so no games or anything like that, mostly just wine and people sitting around talking. :D

Saturday night I saw this play at a little theater in Chelsea, and... It was really great. :D I enjoy seeing people run around on stage with swords after all. ^_~ It was great too, there were about 4 guys in the cast who were credited as "ensemble" and... They totally reminded me of the Taiin. :D They got killed by samurai, or pretended to be trees, and... It just really made me smile. Plus, one of the ensemble looked really really nearly exactly like one of the Kitty Guys...whose name is escaping me right now. XD; But it made me kind of fangirly, watching him. XD

And then I went back to Karen's, and we went out to dinner at this great little Japanese place just off of St. Marks. Yesterday, I tried for the Rent lottery for the matinée and got in, which was really fun. \^o^/

The way the lottery works is pretty neat too (for those who don't know ^_~) - you show up 2 hours before the show, write your name on a slip of paper with the number of tickets you want, and then they call a bunch of names (however many they can for the first 2 rows of the theater) and those people get to buy $20 tickets, FOR THE FIRST 2 ROWS. :D I used to do this all the time when I lived there, so I've seen a lot of different casts over the years, and... I was really, really impressed by this cast. *__* I wasn't really sure what to expect, since I didn't really know anything about any of the actors, but... They were great. Intense and really talented and... It was just a really great show. :D

I had more to say, but... It's taken me nearly 2 hours to get this far because the girl next to me is driving me absolutely INSANE. I was supposed to train her on a very simple procedure this morning, which honestly, should have taken 10 minutes. But for reasons that I honestly can't even explain, it's now turned into this HUGE project, and now I have about three people in my cubicle area all trying to help her do this one stupid thing, which, if they would just leave it to me... I would have it finished by now. @__@ I'm quickly getting really frustrated with everyone though, and so... I think I'm going to try to bury myself in something else until they all go away. >_>

I'll write more later (and hopefully share some pictures) :D

Haaaaaappy Monday~ XD;;;
