I have a question that I have never really received an answer to. Its really a question of curiosity and stems from the touchy subject of religion. I don't, however, believe this is offensive in any way shape or form I would just like clarification. A sex change operation is seen as sin because it may derive from sexual promiscuity and altering who ( Read more... )

i'd call this entry "killing the cat" XD

and my answers (? ya, this ought to be interesting):

1. If a sex change operation is a sin, would that make plastic surgery or coloring your hair a sin?
going on your paramaters, IF sex change is a sin = change is a sin. i don't follow that because that means GROWING UP would be a sin too. >.< i doubt changing your hair color is a sin b/c your hair is dead anyway. getting plastic surgery can't be bad b/c it really helps some people. Personally, i don't see getting a sex change as a sin b/c, hey, that's your choice. But i guess i could see how some people may think that having a sex change b/c of your homosexuality could be a problem (i.e. a problem for super strict conservatives)

2. Despite the different severities of a sin you may commit, such as something minor like cursing versus something as far as murder, do you still end up with the same punishment?
for this question i recall my pastor (when i used to go to church with my Dad and Step-mom) saying that all sins count the same against God. which didn't really make sense to me. he further illustrated that raping someone was equal sin wise to merely THINKING about raping someone, which i also could not comprehend. but that's what my pastor said in his sermon. do i believe that and live by it? not so much.

I completely forgot about the medical advantages of plastic surgery. I was thinking more like surgery tied to vanity as sex change being tied to sexual promiscuity making it a sin.
But yes I agree with what you said.

I still can't believe I forgot the positives of plastic surgery....
