A Resolution Between Shadows and Light

On fanfiction.net, I found a really great Anakin fanfiction called 'A Resolution Between Shadows and Light.' Anakin is very in character, and it's very angsty. Basically, in this fanfic Obi Wan chooses to save Anakin from completely burning on Mutsafar, and Padme survives the Force Choke. It's not finished, but it's still very well written. Here's ( Read more... )

*wistful, yearning sigh* Aaaahhh indeed, yes, and it is still one o' these fics which - I don't know if, at this point, like given just how much time has passed, whether Sakura may still be of much of a mind or inclination to continue with it....and hopefully even to finish it off at some point in the future, but even so I figure as we can still very much live and hope and think, aye, what if....what if indeed, because even just the masterful and quite simply brilliant AU envisioning she came up with there, well, I don't doubt as any way she chose to wrap it up would be equally, flawlessly, fabulously perfect....and, of course, also each and every bit in character for everyone involved. :) Her handle on Anakin - his mind, heart and soul, all - and Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Padme and even (much as I shudder to think of it) Sidious, *ergh*....absolutely top-notch, then and now. :)

And, heck, there are those numerous points in the story too - which, having read through it, I'm sure you're finding too ;) - which I personally found actually, physically made me clench up inside with such profound, acute sympathy and even deeper *feeling* for....well, yeah, the whole sitch in general, but for Anakin himself first and foremostest - for the intimate, exquisite portrayal of his pain, his utter heartbreak, that darkness of anguish which was consuming him whole, which could well have been the ending of him....if there hadn't been those who cared enough to try to pull him out of it....which, most thankfully in this AU-ly instance, at any rate, for a wonder actually included Obi-Wan as well as Padme. Obi-Wan, aye, who as you mention above, at least when it comes to this fic envisioning, *finally* did the actually, genuinely compassionate thing, the *right* thing....!

But, yeah, I guess I just find that - when an author can so effectively move you to tears like that, with even but a simple turn of phrase....or when they can have you feelin' like you're just tied up in terrible tense *knots* inside in such an agony of sympathy for a character, for Anakin in this instance....seeing it from his stance, feeling it with his wounded, vulnerable, hypersensitive heart....well, yeah, I guess it can be quite the rare and wondrous thing, then, an author bein' able to evoke such reactions as that - which I guess only makes this fic even more a master-work unto itself, and yeah....most definitely something *very* well and favourably, honourably befitting of His Anakinliness besides. :) (hmmm, all this talk kinda reminds me....I have one post-ROTS Vaderkin fic viggie I posted back on the TF.n boards and it's up on my FF.net account....wonder if I should link it 'ereabouts, since as it's all Anakinly/Vaderkin-ish it surely does relate.... :) )
