Why Anakin didn't overthrow Palpatine to rule the galaxy..

Am I the only one who noticed how Anakin is willing to share power with others? He doesn't seem to want power for the sake of it; I think he wants power because he thinks he can help, or more accurately, fix things with it. And notice despite talking about overthrowing Palpatine, in ROTS, he never quite does that. He never brings up the subject of ruling the galaxy again until Luke comes along. To me, this shows that he does want to rule the galaxy, but he doesn't want to do it alone.

Notice how when he offers Padme and Luke to join him, he doesn't say "help me rule the galaxy" or "I'll help you rule the galaxy." No; he says "let's rule the galaxy together." In other words, he doesn't want someone to serve him, for him to be completely in charge, and nor does he want to serve someone else. He wants an equal, and I feel like this is related to his past as a slave. Anakin's willingness to share his power also indicates that he's not as selfish as Palpatine, that he doesn't want all the power to himself. While none of this excuses Anakin's lust for power, his wish for an equal makes him more sympathetic in my opinioin. What do you think?

etc.., vader, slavery, lust for power, anakin
