There's some fear and a decent amount of judgment, yes, but there is also my skin softening from the hormones and the joys of being sore in a body that isn't an offense. There is the occasional hope that I can truly build a home where I am and the ageism/prejudice against straight white cisboys that makes that a terrifying concept. There is anticipation of an upcoming two-week stay at a Radical Fairy Sanctuary (which is real, rather than the dream of the city). There is despair that my efforts will ever build a life of constant smiles, but the expectation that there will still be smiles often enough.
