I was reading this on the BBC and I found this comment very funny:
I live in Butt Lane, which I think is a lovely name. Although I did hear of a neighbour who tried to order something online from the US, and the website refused to accept it as "This order cannot be processed as the first line of your address contains an offensive word".

The Street Where You Live". I don't think my street says much, especially as it's in Spain. My Granny lives in a third of a cottage in Orchard Lane, I suppose that just says "country". My Nonna does live in Avenida Las Acacias, but that's in Venezuela. It still is a house with front and back garden, but it has two mango trees, not, say, a willow... It more or less goes with what they were mentioning. However, I don't remember seeing semi-detached houses in Venezuela. Either they're all together, or completely separate (sometimes with garden and/or porch around), or just big blocks of appartments...
