Poem: As it rushes back like waves

Feb 08, 2007 15:46

As it rushes back like waves

Walking past the walls of time
Worried, worn and weathered,
Another hope washed away
In time’s never-ending wake.

You convince yourself it is not true
You convince yourself it can never be
You believe it’s only you
And you move on down the road.

Set aside and forgotten
Former worries fall away
Fresh new heart, fresh new start
Free from all pains and joys.

But then, with a smile and a whisper
All the dreams come rushing back
Forgotten warmth surfaces anew-
That which was lost is all back.

How can it be?
Such sweet chaos.
Gone yesterday, but here again today.
Where does it go?
Whence does it come?
Rushing back-
As if it had never gone?

Muse oh muse, sing to me your song,
Embody me with your sweet emotion
Infuse it into my very heart and
With such words ballads shall be born.
