I was at work when the call from Paul, who was off, came in. He went to the ER and told me that he'd keep me posted if I was really and truly needed.
Yes, he stayed at the ER, with his in-laws, on his day off, and made sure that my father ate and kept me posted and listened to me rant and witter....
Which is not the least reason why he's THE BEST HUSBAND EEEEEVVVVAAAAAAAAAARRRRRR--even after all these years of being a good husband, when the novelty should, by all rights, be wearing off. He's still going and going and going....
This is not a life-threatening deal, but it may be the thing that gets her to the sleep study--which is a consumation devoutly to be wished. To my way of thinking, this waking up with arm and chest and side pain that goes away with nitroglycerine is clearly indicating that her oxygen levels are going down at night--probably because she can ONLY sleep on her back, and she's got apnea aggravated by that.
She doesn't want to do the sleep study, but I think I'm going to throw a tantrum till she does. It can't hurt anything at all, and it may just be the simple solution to the whole thing.
For all this, it was a remarkably good day, where I actually felt almost comfortable in the office....

But I'm beat, now that the excitement is over, so I think I'm going to shower and go to bed--or at least let "Law and Order" wash over me.
