Taking it back...
Today, the Christmas tree came down and went out to the trash. The kids had pretty much destroyed it, and so there was no point in trying to salvage what was left of it for next year--we can get another.
Preferably one that hangs from the ceiling.
We had actually managed to save more of the ornaments than I thought, and that was happy-making.
In the meantime, Christmas is gone for another year, thank all that's holy, and my living room is clean and comfortable and stress-free once more.
I stayed down there the better part of the day, just so I could look at it, in fact.
Gotta go down and clean up the kitchen now--I'm already up past my bedtime.
