We've been very bad this evening...

We felt like having pizza, but I really wasn't interested in take-out, because, while it's convenient for some nice individual to bring your pizza to the door, it's damned expensive, and, for me, there's always something that's not on the pizza that I think would be pretty good ( Read more... )

There's a part of me that likes the cooler weather when it comes to cooking, because you can crank up the oven and it doesn't get sweltering in the kitchen.

But it was in the 40's here last night, and it's just way too early in the year for that to be goin' on.

I saw pie pumpkins at the store this evening, that means I have a very messy/busy brewday in my future.

There's an article in a BYO magazine about thanksgiving beers. there's a pretty good sounding cranberry one I'd like to try

I haven't had much luck with winter brewing, it's hard keeping a room within the right temperature for the yeast. I think I'll work on moving my brewery into the garage

Ooh, i'd made the recommendation that Belle make the crust, if she did so with the barm off of a cranberry ale or a pumpkin ale...yummmmmmmm.

I made a sourdough starter from the dregs from the bottom of a bottle conditioned red ale once. It turned out pretty good.
