Because LJ is the closest thing to a "baby book" that I have

My child does this odd thing. If he takes a fall, he then attempts to reenact it.

We were at an indoor playplace today and he slid off of a little stool that he was standing on. I was right next to him and caught his arm as he went down, so his rear just gently tapped the ground and then I scooped him up into my arms.

Well, I put him down once I saw that he wasn't hurt. And then he climbed onto the stool and set himself up to tumble off, carefully lowering himself onto his back onto the floor. As he does this he keeps his head ever so slightly lifted off of the ground by stiffening his neck and in this position he observes himself as he drops his limbs down.

He's done this many times after many different falls. Kind of strange. Maybe it's his way of processing the event? Or maybe he kind of likes the way it feels to fall and wants to do it again? But he adds in a lot of caution as he reenacts the incident, so I don't know.
