I am impressed; someone's pretty much managed to commercialise a dollar auction. This doesn't fall under the 'that's so obvious, I wish I thought of that', more the 'even if I'd thought of it, I'd have assumed it'd be illegal'...
The basic idea is that it's an auction site. Every bid costs you a dollar to make. Each bid raises the sell price of the item by 15 cents. When the auction closes, the person who placed the last bid gets to pay the final bid price, and everyone else who paid to bid on the auction gets to mumble into their beer.
If the people behind this fail to make stupid money here (excepting, of course the chance that they get shut down as a scam), then truly god hates them.
I believe a polite round of applause for the creators' audacity is in order.
