So much has happened in these last four weeks. But I have little energy to post. Still.
It's Carnaval here, meaning, I worked yesterday and won't have to go back to work again till next Thrusday--5 days off, paid for. Sweet. We're going out of town tomorrow. No beach yet--I've been begging Rick to go, but he is never up to it. I NEED to go into the ocean...step on the sand...feel the breeze coming from the water.
But for now we'll go to the mountains, about 2 hours from São Paulol. We'll be staying with a couple who owns a place over there and who are good friends of ours.
The one good thing that happened: we attended two U2 concerts this week. They were spetacular. Just too amazing to put into words. This band is very dear to us. When we dated Rick used to write a quote from their songs in each card he'd write me. Very special.
Besides the concert, we got to see ansd exchange a couple of words with Bono and The Edge at hotel we were staying, which, coincidentally, was the same one the band was in.
The Monday night concert was the best. There was so much energy being exchanged between the crowd and the band you could almost touch it! The last time U2 was in Brazil was in 1998, so you can imagine the expectations. People slept outside the stadium for up to 5 days leading up to the concert. The two concerts sucked up a lot of energy from me and I already had so little! But they were an experience to remember for a lifetime--singing along with 73 thousand fans is quite unforgettable.
