Chapter 6 Meeting
Is there anything more simple that that?! Ok maybe his getting a date for tonight was easier but who complained. The problem was he never got the chance...
***
Park Yoochun just sunk under the ground! Yunho was looking for him for the whole week and nothing. He wasn’t at the school, just like the secretary advised, he wasn’t at the park either. Young man begun to lose his cool: with his manager demanding results, his dates being boring as hell and Changmin with his smirk being no help at all! He was going crazy with anxiety.
That’s probably why he was standing now next to his car in front of the school waiting for the period to finish. It was insane and unprofessional but he didn’t care at this stage. He had to have that contract signed! The bell rang and kids run happily out the door. Moments later a man appeared in the exit.
Yunho tried not to stare, he tried not to see the sun casting warm shine on his curled up hair, he tried not to notice the way the wind way playing with his bangs and collar of his shirt, he tried not to watch how the man smiled at a child waving goodbye to him. In other words young man tried his best and failed.
The musician was getting closer by the second and it seemed that he didn’t notice anything wrong with a metallic black Audi A4 parked in front of school gate and a man in expensive dark gray suit waiting beside the car or so Yunho thought as his hands were getting wet for no reason at all. He swallowed trying to keep his emotions as far from this as possible. He was a professional; he reminded himself but then why was it so hard for him to speak?
‘Mr Park Yoochun.’ he uttered when the man in question was almost in front of him, probably lost in his thoughts. Melancholic eyes laid their glance on young executive and he almost froze.
‘Yes?’ husky voice barely audible almost blew Yunho away.
‘My name is Jung Yunho. I need to speak to you.’ Yunho regained his composure and continued coldly ‘We had a meeting scheduled for this Monday gone.’ These words seemed to have no impact on the artist. He stood there his gaze fixed on a man before him. ‘I would like to take a moment of your time today then.’ He finished with what couldn’t have been considered a polite suggestion rather a harsh demand.
Yunho opened the passenger door and made a gesture towards the man to come into the car. Much to his surprise the strange musician followed.

Yoochun missed all his activities during last week by simply having a bad case of flu. Truth be told, as much as young man didn’t like adults he adored children. He had a feeling of accomplishment whenever his student finished his task without a fail, even though it could take hours for it to happen. Musician didn’t mind that, without a word he would kindly guide the hands of his pupil to the right key combination.
In fact, there were almost no words during the practise. Yoochun believed that in music class, only music should be heard and only in extreme cases would he use a soft whisper, as if in fear of scarring the notes, to explain what needed to be explained. Yes, he enjoyed this time very much.
The bell rang announcing the end of the lesson and to his much surprise; no one needed him to stay over this time. He had his afternoon free. What would he do? Still in his thoughts, he slowly walked amongst excited kinds saying his ‘goodbyes’ and tossing few smiles around. Something felt different about this day but he couldn’t point out what. Maybe it was the fact that he finished early or missed the place, whatever it was it kept his mind fuzzy.
Then a voice like a sharp, white bolt from an ink-black sky tore down on him blinding his mind for good few moments. He lifted his gaze and froze. An angel before him, those eyes he knew those eyes. Deep, almost black, cold yet full of emotions, Yoochun was lost in them. He didn’t recognise the words this gorgeous creature was communicating with and at this moment in time he was quite sure it wasn’t any language known to mankind as those lips were to perfect to be spoiled with a mere human sounds.
He heard himself asking a simple question and then those lips begun to move again and the voice that leaked from them took his breath away. It was a sound unlike any other, a definite baritone with hints of tenor whenever a play of vowels occurred and beautiful falsetto in every ‘e’. Musician was truly amazed. What would he give to hear this being sing! He would gladly die there and then if he could just witness this voice swing from one note to the other.
Not understanding a word Yoochun followed the gesture made by his muse and sat in the car waiting for what was to come.

Yunho was taken aback by the way the situation turned out. He wasn’t expecting it would go this easy. Maybe it was his charm. Ride to the restaurant was quiet yet not peaceful for young man was fighting with his breath every few seconds. It certainly wasn’t one of his best rides, no sir.
He was trying his best not to look to his passenger’s direction nor steal glances of reflections the mirror made his neck stiff. Silence filling the vehicle wasn’t really helping him with easing the tension. Take a deep breath Yunho and let it go he thought pulling over at the restaurant’s parking lot. He got out of the car and took few deep breaths before hesitantly showing his guest to the entrance.
Ok maybe the restaurant was a bit fancy and he wouldn’t have usually take a business partner to but this was a very important matter and spending few more won never hurt to win a soul of a client. They sat by a table for two beside the window and few moments later they were joined by a lovely waitress.
‘How many I help you gentlemen?’ her voice was very polite but the smile was quite fake Yunho noted.
‘Latte’ he answered and heard a ghost like echo of his own words coming from the other guy. He tore his eyes from the girl and glanced at the face in front of him only to find two moist orbs looking back.
At that moment the trail of his thoughts, if he had any, was not only stopped but also ripped apart, shred to pieces. Looking down on the table, he just waved the girl off and put his hands together to prevent them from shaking. Taking few breaths calmed him down and allowed to get back on track.
‘Let us start then.’ He began with cold and professional voice looking at his guest. The man wasn’t moved by his words in the slightest. Instead, he was very interested in whatever was going on outside the window. That’s your tactic’s to scare me away is it? Well I’m no rookie, I will make you listen to what I have to say and beg for more! with this thought he spoke again. ‘My name is Jung Yunho and I represent Rising Sun Company. I will make this simple and clear, I would like to talk to you about our offer.’ Still no reaction.
‘Our company specializes in advertising and we would like you to take part in one of our major projects. We know your works and we think it would be very satisfying for both sides if you would consider signing with us.’ Yes straight to the point make him think I’ve used all my cards in this deal and let his step forward with declining then I’ll have him! Yunho smirked seeing the man shift in his chair.
‘The project is a series of commercials for Purple Line’s new mineral water; 15 to 45 seconds long. We let you choose the kind of theme you want to experiment on, time and place you want to compose in, instruments you require. During whatever time you require my company is willing to pay an equal amount every bi-week. The dead line is set of course but we can always discuss the details when the time is right.’ He trailed of piercing his guest with his gaze lowering his head a bit. A reaction was all he needed, all he wanted.
‘Water...’ husky voice poured out of almost closed lips sending a chill down the businessman’s spine.
‘Yes, new water line, pretty broad subject to work on if I may say so. Of course you are the expert here.’ Yunho knew well how to flatter a customer. His salesman personality took over his completely leaving no room for emotions, which he was glad of. Now he waited, waited with his eyes squinted for the right moment to strike.

Yoochun was still trying to recover from the daze. There he was sitting in probably the most expensive restaurant in the town listening to this beautiful melody coming from angel like man. Maybe he did overdo with the pills on Sunday after all...
After the first electric gaze he received from the stranger musician couldn’t force himself to look at those eyes again. It wasn’t that he was shy or anything, no, simple fact was, he would lose himself in those almond shaped wonders. He would grow deaf to the heavenly sounds, blind to the perfect shaped face before him, numb to objects surrounding him. No, it was far better, far safer, to look at his reflection in the glass.
Words started to make sense shortly after phrases like ‘company’ and ‘project’ came up and he knew exactly what the deal was. The found him again, although he cut all his ties from the past they were still able to find him. They send an angel to bring him back to hell. He wanted to leave, he tried to leave but this man cast a spell on him! His body wouldn’t listen, his mind slowly engulfed by this sweet voice whispering great promises, he knew all too well. He was trapped and the worst thing was he actually wanted to remain like this.
One word from those luscious lips was all he needed to hear a melody being born. With faint sighs of violin and gentle kisses of piano, a new world came before his eyes. Just one word opened his mind and let all the ideas pour out of it flooding the artist’s senses leaving him vulnerable. He heard himself uttering the same word; he lost the fight...
‘When do you need me?’ this question was concerning far more than this mere contract.
***
‘The date of the opening of the project is scheduled for sometime this month... let me get the actual date for you.’ Yunho couldn’t believe his luck! This will definitely guarantee him a raise and rub off that stupid grin from Min’s face. Yes now if he could just find the contract in this bag and get it signed he would be the happiest guy on earth. He could go on his yacht and spend a lovely week or two not worrying about a single thing, if could find that damn piece of paper that is!
Cold sweat covered his back when he realized his fatal mistake. The contract wasn’t here…
