Comments to my students
1) Please don't tell me that I didn't teach this material to you. You weren't here every day of the last two weeks when we worked on this topic.
2) Don't tell me that you lost your homework and need a new copy of the worksheet. You've said that every day of this week.
3) I'm sorry you didn't know there was a quiz today. I've had a note on the board about it all week.
4) Yes, you have to turn in this semester's work before the semester is over.
5) Do you remember anything from yesterday?
6) I know you don't have any notes to use during today's quiz. Not my problem.
7) No, I did NOT miss you when you were absent for a week.
8) Go back to sleep. I'm not used to you being awake in class.
9) Yes.. something does smell in this room. It's you... (Yes, there is a story behind that one).
10) Yes, I know you are 19 years old. I'll treat you like an adult when you act like one...
11) I realize you didn't eat breakfast this morning. I also realize that you didn't eat the free breakfast that the school provided. It's not my problem that you have the munchies now.
12) No, I'm not interested in buying pot from you. I have my own dealer... thanks
13) I'm sorry the other math teacher doesn't teach you anything. Given how you acted in my classroom last year, I can understand why.
