Tutorial #4: Commodore Norrington

Jul 07, 2006 21:18

I made a new tutorial featuring Commodore James Norrington from the 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' movies.
*movie came out today, happiness!*
Well, today you learn this:

Go from
 to

Made it in Adobe Photoshop 7.0, but it's translatable.

I used this pic.

Step 1: Crop and resize your picture to 100x100 pixels

Step 2: Sharpen the picture once. Take the smudge tool @ strenght 50% and smooth put his skin (avoid eyes/eyebrows/etc.). Then take your sharpen tool @ strenght 50% and sharpen his eyes, mouth and his belt.

Step 3: Duplicate the base twice. Set the middle layer to Screen, opacity 100% and set the other layer to Soft Light, opacity 100%.

Step 4: Take this gradient (by
elliptica) and go to Image --> Adjustments --> Auto Levels to get the next result:

 without auto-levels

 with auto-levels
*pretty cool, ain't it?*
Set the gradient (with the auto-levels) to Soft Light, opacity 100%

Step 5: Copy and paste this gradient (by ??, please tell me if you now who made it) and set this to Soft Light, opacity 100%

Step 6: Add your text. I wrote 'Really!?' with the font 'Notepad' (12 pt)

Step 7: Add this border (made by me)

Step 8: Duplicate your base, pull it to the top and set it to Soft Light, opacity 100%

And your done!!
