Damn. I had been hoping against hope that it was an early April Fool's Day joke, but alas, I was wrong. Jimmy really has left The Smashing Pumpkins. He's posted assurance that there's no bad blood between him and Billy, and that the reason for his leaving was he didn't feel it was fair to anyone if he kept on with something he wasn't fully committed to. I understand that, but it still makes me sad. T_T
He also said that he's glad Billy's decided to go on with The Smashing Pumpkins. I am, too. Keep on rockin', Billy. I'll support you in whatever you do. I know I'm just a recent convert to the Ghost Children, but I am completely enthralled with your work and your talent, from 1988 all the way up to the present. Jimmy will be sorely missed, but I'm sure whoever you choose to replace him will be excellent. Best of luck to you, Jeff, Ginger, Lisa, and the new guy. Love you all. Pumpkins forever. :D
