The year's almost over(!)
I had a good Christmas. I like the gifts I got, and people liked the gifts I gave. The things I thought may not come in time were both delivered on Christmas Eve, so I didn't have to wrap up any "this is what you're getting" notes. Yay.
I got a light therapy lamp (which I'm using right now), the grapic novel adaptation of The Last Unicorn, a $20 Amazon.com gift card, Transmetropolitan #4, and my sister and brother-in-law gave my mom and me some homemade cookies. I also got two copies of the first Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood collection. I exchanged one of them for the second collection, so now I have the whole series. It's on blu-ray, so it'll be really pretty to watch. :D
As a Christmas present to myself, I got the Azumanga Daioh omnibus edition not too long ago. Has all four manga volumes in one book. It's a pretty fat book, though I think my Bone one-volume edition is just a little bit bigger.
Now my hours have gone down at work. Guh. I hope this doesn't last very long. We're always slim on hours just after Christmas. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things turn around sooner rather than later.
This weekend at Kinokuniya, they're having their year-end shopper appreciation sale. Most merchandise is 10% off, and CDs are 20% off. As a member, I get an additional 10% discount. I bought some manga and the Dissidia 012 [duodecim] soundtrack. I is happy.
I also got my hair cut today. Same style as before, but shorter. I think it's cute.
My New Year's resolution: To catch up on all the books, movies, games, etc. that I've been neglecting for the past few years. In other words, spend less time on the computer and more time entertaining myself in other ways. My other resolution is to start writing original stories and looking for a publisher. I can start off by sending short stories to magazines, or something like that. I want 2013 to be the year I finally start working toward my dream of being a writer by profession and not just as a hobby. Wish me luck in keeping both those resolutions. Lord knows I'm gonna need it. ~_~
P.S. Oh yeah, the world was supposed to have ended a week ago. I must have missed the Apocalypse. Oh well...
