What happens when you read Harry Potter and then watch Battlestar Galactica?

Warning: Rambling Ahead

Snape needs a hug. I've decided that his overly irritating favoritism (which irritates me the most because it makes him seem so utterly shallow) is just him being bitter and lonely... because he has all this dren in his background, the tormented evil-but-not (or maybe so I'm mid book 4), which makes him an interesting character except that he had this utterly obnoxious blatant favoritism... granted.. kids book... so subtle isn't always the way to go.. but I think the one line in Goblet of Fire where Moody is giving him shite ('some marks don't wash away')and Snape holds his arm (where the dark mark is)made me understand Snape slash... seriously... cause the guy would be cool (but still mopey/aloof Snape) if he got a hug... or laid.. or whatever...

The evil lawyer guy in Crossing Jordan just needed to get hit by a car... and I called it.. and he did.. an ambulance actually.... (don't lawyers usually chase those things?) but before he went back-from-the-dead-and-still-evil I thought he could be saved by a good lay... (Hug would NOT be enough..)

And all this late night energy is a product of Battlestar Galactica, which just blew me away.. (So yea, spoilers ahead) Cause gods how much can I so completely disagree with Roslin for most of the episode and still just worship her... I see her side, I see Adama's, I understand Baltar and agree with Tyrol and AHHHH! cause that is when my brain spontaniously combusts... I laughed at the quip on Tachyon TV about the difficulty of watching BSG without wanting to kill yourself but gods I get it... depressingly realistic no-win situations that are utterly anxiety producing...

And between Roslin and the 'lottery' idea and Adama threatening Cally they're jointly turning into Cain... Not that I don't have a soft spot for Cain due to a certain fic... : ) just the actions of individuals when the big push comes... Anxiety producing grade frelling A television... (course I'm a bit biased)

One question... was there a purpose to the malfunctioning ship hitting Colonial One besides the obvious metaphor of hitting the President where she lives? (or was it just for the Adama accidental flirty quip and Roslin being ohsocute...?)

K.. tension somewhat ebbed now.. just needed to get that out there..

'Vote Roslin or we'll airlock your ass...' the bumper sticker says... how about...
Vote Roslin or we'll try to steal the election then airlock your ass...
Vote Roslin or we'll threaten to burn your books before stealing an election and then airlocking your ass...

the democratic president/dictator line she straddles so well is just confounding.... (at least at 2am)

Leaving now... promise..

ranting..., bsg
