First off, a very Happy Birthday to
horsieelanor!
This pregnancy has definitely been more challenging than the last go-round. Between
Placenta Previa, multiple colds/bronchitis, and now just being completely wiped-out tired, it has been quite an adventure, and not the fun kind.
I'm now trying desperately to stay completely healthy between now and January, since I can't afford to take any more days off of work until the baby comes, since we don't get maternity leave separate from our sick and vacation time. I'm going to be stuck working the Friday after Christmas now. Ugh.
Last weekend was the weekend of seeing theater. I saw Nick's show (
The Fiddler Ghost) at the DC Capital Fringe Fest. For anyone in the DC Area, I highly recommend it. It was a cool show visually - the choreography was wonderful, and the music, incorporating live guitar, singing, and a fiddler, was very well done.
Sunday I saw
The Imaginary Invalid at the Shakespeare Theater. It was surprisingly very funny - I'm impressed at the way they did it, so that the 17th century humor actually came through. Also, I'm so used to seeing Nick's small theater shows, which are always fantastic, but done on a shoestring budget (as is the norm in small theaters) that it always impresses me when I see something at the Shakespeare, where no expense is spared, and all scenery & costuming is done to the hilt. Jennie and I had lunch at
La Tasca at Gallery Place-Chinatown before seeing the show, and everything was super delicious - from the tapas to the tres leches cake to the sangria (no worries, I just had one glass - I do want my kid to be able to do math one day!)
And now I'm going to go knit for a while. I'm trying to knock out one scarf a month between now and Christmas.
