So, I decided to participate in that Fandom Appreciation Challenge. Today we're challenged to make five recs from organised fic challenges. These are my recs.

Nobody had hair like John’s in the armed forces unless they were secretly gay. It was like a rule."

This one is from a 2004 Firefly ficathon, and I only recently found and read it. Jayne, Simon, an injury, and a story. Very lyrical in some places, and I liked it a lot.

What can I say? People get turned into cats. It's made of awesome. Seriously, it's hilarious. Why would the Ancients even have such a machine? Because clearly, they were all crazy.

I admit that I found this story through _minxy_ and I'm so glad that I did. It's the future, Sam's made certain decisions, and those decisions weren't nice ones. Ori are on Earth. I'm a sucker for dark, apocafic, and this is a fantastic example.

Another apocalypse story, (for the apocalyptothon), and this is the most creative way I've ever read to end the world. The universe, even. Grim and inevitable, and just a wonderful fic.

Written for the frak_buddies Helo/Tyrol fic exchange. Hurty and good and messy (in terms of the relationship, not the writing!). Pre-cylon attack.
